The Chesterfield Smith Society for Equal Justice continues the legacy of the great Chesterfield Smith, who during his 55-year law career, served as a beacon of light for the poor. He was founding partner at the law firm of Holland & Knight, where he promoted pro bono work, and became a mighty voice in politics and law. In honor of his substantial contribution to legal services for the poor and his role as Chair of the Campaign for Justice which raised funds for LSGMI to purchase its main office building, LSGMI named its office building the Chesterfield Smith Center for Equal Justice in 1999. The Chesterfield Smith Society for Equal Justice was formed to continue his legacy by supporting the ongoing work of LSGMI.

As LSGMI continues its long history of providing free civil legal services for those less fortunate in Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties, private support continues to be critical to ensure that LSGMI can grow and expand to meet the community's growing needs.

Since 1966, LSGMI has called on members of the legal profession to honor their commitment to provide Equal Justice for All. We rely on your support so that we can continue to provide free legal services to low-income individuals and families in need.
